課程概述 |
This course focuses on practical procedures in animal breeding and related applications in swine and dairy cattle improvement. The contents of this course bridge the students participated from theory of animal breeding to practice on farm by working on those real cases and data sets with discussions in the classes. |
課程目標 |
A practical on-farm approach is designed for animal breeders and students who have taken basic animal breeding course. From classic and population genetics to genetic evaluation and strategy of animal improvement, we will go through the practical process of a breeding system for livestock industry. Students will be asked to complete a term project along with assignment every 1 or 2 weeks. |
